The story is an episodic format with an overall story arch playing throughout to be specific this game contains three episodes. So the mystery solving is a bit more enhanced in this game and actually makes it more interesting to solve the mystery, it's far less obvious which is always a plus.Īs for story it's set up the same as the first one, Scooby and Shaggy are hungry leading them into a goal of getting food, and like the first one you have to solve a number of mysteries before this goal is achieved. Also a number of clues come from ripped up scraps of paper that you find in certain places, which you then put together like a puzzle. The magnifying glass is less used and is mainly good for picking up trails. The camera can be used to take pictures of suspects or clues you might find in your environment. In this game however you are given a camera and a magnifying glass. In the first game you'd have to find a certain amount of clues to form an actual clue, which makes no sense on why that item would be broken up, and then the revealed clue would make the mystery to obvious. What's really nice about this game is unlike the first game this actually has more mystery elements. Each monster after being defeated will drop a mask, and after collecting enough of them they're redeemed for extra's at the hub area, which I think end up being info in the case files (So all in all not really worth the effort).

The levels are vast and full of many paths to explore, unfortunately there's backtracking involved sometimes and there's no quick way to get to an objective other then go the way you came, fortunately this doesn't happen every time and they will on occasion give you a short cut back. In my experience with this game multiplayer was not enjoyed, you share one camera angle and so it becomes hard for both players to remain on screen at all times. By collecting Scooby snacks you can use them to buy costume pieces to change how your character looks.Īnd like the previous game this includes multiplayer. Costumes are no longer mandatory to get through a level (There's one mission where you need to get a coat, but this doesn't affect how the game is played), instead costumes are a way of customizing your characters. However it did improve upon the previous game. Each character has a certain battle style and a unique ability to solve puzzles. In terms of gameplay it plays like its predecessor, it's your standard beat'em up game with puzzle elements and exploration thrown in.
